This is my first time at Mui Ngo Gai and they serve both Vietnamese and Singaporean cuisine which makes for an interesting combination. The interior is tastefully decorated with warm floral prints and chandeliers. The server recommended the tamarind fried fish which was a delicious choice... crispy, tangy, and great with a bowl of rice. You also can’t go wrong with the Vietnamese crepe either which was light and refreshing. But, my favourite has to be the garlic water spinach. I first had this dish in Asia and fell in love with it since. Not very many places in Vancouver offer it and the restaurant prepared it just right. It was crunchy, savoury, and had a nice garlic flavour. Overall, a good meal. You should give this place a try!

We went for my sister's birthday and loved the ambiance, the service, the food! We had the Singaporean chili crab (140 each ), roasted eggplant, crispy wings, pineapple fried rice, tamarind fish, sweet sour chicken and everything was really good. Great spot to take family or someone you want to impress. The staff (maybe they're a family?) were all so sweet and attentive too. Parking available in the back. Excited to be back to try more dishes.

Such a cute family style restaurant! Great for sharing dishes. We got around 12 dishes for 7 people and were all EXTREMELY full. Their drinks are delicious - perfectly refreshing for the rich flavours. Didn't even get a chance to take pictures of most of the food because we were so busy eating!! Which is always a good sign... right? ;)

Hidden gem. Almost everything we ordered were tasty. We especially enjoy the pineapple fried rice, crab tomato noodle soup and the grilled eggplants. I ordered the milk tea too but it was way too sweet for me.

Had a nice dinner at Mui Ngo Gai while taking advantage of their birthday promotion (your age your discount - which applies to the entire table). Drinks and crab dishes are limited to a 30% discount. Our group of 3 shared 4 dishes, which was the perfect amount of food. We had the Ca Tim Sot Tom (eggplant, prawn and tomato), Lemongrass Chili Chicken, Beef Horfun, and Pineapple Fried Rice. Our dishes ranged in regular price from 25 to 28. We really enjoyed the food. In particular, the pineapple fried rice (bursting with flavour and served in a hollowed half pineapple), lemongrass chicken (perfectly cooked and not very spicy), and the beef horfun. With the horfun, we were expecting a dry noodle dish, and were surprised with how thick the sauce was. While it felt more like a soup, it was comforting and savoury. The rice noodles had a good amount of chew. We knew a group who had also had the grilled eggplant and prawn at an earlier date, and their plate came with 2 eggplants (slightly smaller than our 1, but as a whole, it would still come with more food). Portion sizes aren't always consistent, just a note! The price point is quite high for the portions, and you're paying for a richer ambiance and upscale plating. We had a 5 pm reservation on a weekday, and food came out quite quickly after ordering. Friendly service who were attentive to clear plates (although they don't really 'check' on how you're enjoying the food), although it wasn't overly busy while we were dining. Good option for groups and sharing plates, with a selection of Vietnamese and Singaporean dishes. Their various promotions are a good way to attract new customers, and it worked on us. Would recommend!

Tried this fusion Viet Singaporean place the first time and turned out to be a great experience. We ordered some of their specialty dishes My top picks are the beef brisket stew and seafood pancake. Friendly staff with good efficient service.

Been here twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. We came for dinner with a birthday promotion which is really amazing. Tried many items on menu and everything was tasty and flavourful. When their lunch menu launched, we went to try and the Vietnamese staples were solid - the crab soup, duck bamboo noodles and lemongrass chicken on rice. Service was amazing thank you we can’t wait to be back! PS best teh terik around.

Came here for the first time and was very pleased with the food and service. Amazing service, very friendly and accommodating. They make birthdays so special with their birthday discount event. They also have the whole restaurant clap and sing happy birthday (if requested). Highly recommend their Vietnamese pancake. Super crispy and delicious! Would skip on their lemon grass chili chicken as it didn’t have much flavour. Vibes were cozy yet elegant with florals and chandeliers. It gave me a “high tea” sort of vibe but with rave music which threw me off.
